The second attempt on the concrete leg has been tried, I say attempted because it failed again, this time however the finish was a lot more fine and there were much less air gaps. I feel the only reason it failed was because some of the concrete had been forced out the silicone mould. This meant that the silicone and the plaster mould were stuck together and when I tried to pull out the concrete leg it snapped.
This attempt has led me to believe that the next move is to put a steel rod down the mould in order to make it stronger. This was poured on Wednesday and will be ready to check on Monday morning.
